Advanced Drumming Creates Smooth Recycled Glass Surface

Steni spent years working with recycled glass in Steni’s test laboratory. Almost a hundred surface examples in different colors, mixes, and degrees of roughness were created and tested. The result is an eco-friendly, smooth surface recycled glass rainscreen panel achieved by an advanced drumming process.

We continue to use natural materials that would otherwise have been scrapped, as we have done with stone for a number of years. The glass we use is reused from old bottles and window panes,” says Jan Terje Nielsen, Communications Manager at Steni.

Steni Composite Stone Panels

Steni Color, Vision and Nature rainscreen panels are composite stone made of a fiberglass-reinforced polymer composite with a crushed limestone core. The smooth surface is made of electron beam-cured acrylic. Steni composite stone panels are 100% water-impermeable and designed to withstand the harshest of environments.
