Faroe Island School

Located in the Faroe Islands, Skolen ved Strømmen (School by the Stream) demonstrates how thoughtful material selection can elevate architecture in one of the world’s most demanding climates. Designed by BRIM Arkitekter, the school features Steni Colour composite stone façade panels, chosen for their exceptional durability, low maintenance requirements, and ability to withstand the harsh coastal climate.

The façade combines varying gloss levels to create a dynamic surface that responds to changing daylight, reflecting the surrounding snow-covered hills and giving the building a distinctive sense of movement and depth throughout the seasons.
