Petrarch Panels Create a Sense of Prestige

The Gary & Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center reinforces Rutgers University’s goals to improve academic outcomes, personal growth, and student wellness. The Success Center consolidates educational support for all student-athletes. Vibrant, innovative, and nurturing in its design approach, the Success Center combines modernized learning spaces with an athletic training facility.

Inspired by a bold and invigorating design vision, architects EwingCole developed the Gary and Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center into a signature facility of Rutgers athletics and academics, combining modernized learning spaces with an athletic training facility.

EwingCole ArchitectsOur vision is to design places that elevate the human experience; our goal is to build a design culture that can transform the most common buildings and landscapes into meaningful experiences.

This state-of-the-art facility is the new home for the men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse programs and includes dedicated training and equipment spaces for each, new lounges and meeting spaces, offices, and locker rooms.

Working closely with Rutgers Institutional Planning and Operations and Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, EwingCole developed the Gary and Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center into the signature facility of Rutgers athletics and academics, combining modernized learning spaces with an athletic training facility.

EwingCole chose the qualities of Petrarch composite stone rainscreen panels to help realize an impactful and elegant façade for the Gary & Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center. The firm specified Petrarch Panels due to the sustainability and durability of Petrarch’s design. Petrarch composite stone rainscreen panels are manufactured predominantly from crushed marble and stone, a by-product of marble mining. This material which would otherwise head to landfill is reappropriated and transformed into environmentally friendly reconstituted stone panels.

The complementing shades and textures of Russet and Graphite reinforce the prestige of Rutger’s University brand and work perfectly in harmony with Rutger’s University logo.
