Petrarch Panels Create a Sense of Prestige
As architects with a bold and invigorating design vision, Ewing Cole turned to the qualities of Petrarch engineered stone to help realise an impactful and elegant facade for the Gary & Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center.
Our vision is to design places that elevate the human experience; our goal is to build a design culture that can transform the most common buildings and landscapes into meaningful experiences.
A centre dedicated to driving success.
This state-of-the-art facility is the new home for the men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse programs and includes dedicated training and equipment spaces for each, new lounges and meeting spaces, offices, and locker rooms.
Inspirational spaces which power positive mindsets – enrobed in Petrarch
The client brief was challenging, to create a ‘signature’ facility which would inspire success. The Gary & Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center (RASC) reinforces Rutgers University’s goals to improve academic outcomes, personal growth, and student wellness. The facility consolidates educational support space for all student-athletes.
Vibrant, innovative, and nurturing in its design approach, it combines modernised learning spaces with an athletic training facility of the future.
In the words of the architect:
Working closely with Rutgers Institutional Planning and Operations and Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, EwingCole developed the Gary and Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center into the signature facility of Rutgers athletics and academics, combining modernized learning spaces with an athletic training facility.
Award-winning architects turn to an environmentally friendly facade solution
As an award-winning architect, Ewing Cole takes careful attention when specifying architectural materials. Sustainability and innovation are key, and are perhaps some of the reasons they opted to employ Petrarch panels for the Success Center. Petrarch engineered stone is manufactured predominantly from crushed marble and stone, a by-product of marble mining. This material which would otherwise head to landfill is reappropriated and transformed into environmentally friendly reconstituted stone panels.
Colors & textures which encapsulate a sense of grandeur
Opting for Petrarch composite stone rainscreen in complementing elegant shades; Russet and Graphite and contrasting textures bring depth to this stand-out education sector cladding project. Chosen to reinforce the prestige of Rutger’s University brand, the rich hues of the russet panel works perfectly in harmony with the Rutger’s University logo ensuring it has real stand-out.
